Spring is arriving in Garrett County. This May you can enjoy the Bird fest weekend at the Deep Creek Lake State Park Discovery Center. Beginning Saturday May 3rd at 6pm Katie Fallon will be speaking and signing her new book, and Sunday May 4th at 2pm there will be Bird Photography at the Aviary. Make it a Railroad Weekend!
If you like trains you have plenty of choices, even if the weather is not so nice. Why not go to Oakland, MD and visit the Railroad Museum at the old B&O train station? In November and December an exhibition of train photographs takes place, the museum is open Friday and Saturday from 10 to 3 and on Sunday from 12 to 3. On October 19, 2013 the County Volunteer Emergeny Services of Garrett County, MD are inviting you to come to the Garrett County Public Safety Day at the Garrett County Fairgrounds in McHenry, MD. The event will support the local Volunteer Fire Department and the Rescue Squads.
