That honor goes to New Germany State Park in the 1940’s they had both downhill skiing and cross-country nicknamed “Maryland’s Alps”. This was a premier destination until about the 1960’s. His idea for DST was so that the hours of light could be used more efficiently and save more money out in the long run. Unlike other markets at the Oakland Farmers Market you will find only products that are produced by the vendors themselves.
