It’s Fair Time!!!
It’s that time of year again for the Garrett County, MD Agriculture Fair! This is a great time for all family and friends to get out and enjoy the local vendors, crafters, and farmers of our County. It’s the 4th of July weekend here in Garrett County. Thursday July 3rd at dusk Broad ford Lake Park will be holding their annual fireworks display. Then on Friday July 4th at dusk Deep Creek Lake will be holding their Fire on the Mountain annual fireworks display. Please everyone have a safe and Happy 4th of July. April Showers Bring May Flowers!!
Spring is arriving in Garrett County. This May you can enjoy the Bird fest weekend at the Deep Creek Lake State Park Discovery Center. Beginning Saturday May 3rd at 6pm Katie Fallon will be speaking and signing her new book, and Sunday May 4th at 2pm there will be Bird Photography at the Aviary. Both days will host various children crafts, bird encounters, and walks. These activities will be taking place during different times of day. So come on out . . .

The Garrett County State Parks offer their First Day Hikes on New Year’s Day. At Herrington Manor State Park, the hike starts at 1pm and you are invited to bring your (well-behaved, on a leash) dog with you. A a park ranger will guide this hike around Herrington Manor and will inform you about what you need to know when you bring your dog to a state park.
