Spring is arriving in Garrett County. This May you can enjoy the Bird fest weekend at the Deep Creek Lake State Park Discovery Center. Beginning Saturday May 3rd at 6pm Katie Fallon will be speaking and signing her new book, and Sunday May 4th at 2pm there will be Bird Photography at the Aviary. Both days will host various children crafts, bird encounters, and walks. These activities will be taking place during different times of day. So come on out . . .

Getting Ready For Summer!
May 3, 2014 Deep Creek Lake Maryland will be hosting a Boat Auction and Community Yard Sale at the Lion’s Club Park on Bumblee Road McHenry, MD. What a great time to get ready for the summer. The auction will begin around 1pm, your yardsale items can be set up for free beginning at noon. There is still time to donate your old boats, ATV’s, and snowmachines. Easter Egg Hunt in Grantsville
On April 19, 2014 from 10am to 12pm the Grantsville Rotary have an Easter Egg Hunt at the Spruce Forest Artisan Village in Grantsville, MD. Registration starts at 10am and the Egg Hunt begins at 10.30am. There will be three age categories with over 1000 filled eggs to find. You also might try your luck with the Coach Purse Raffle, tickets are sold at Diehl’s Ford Sales or Yoder-Hershbergher Insurance in Grantsville, MD. Proceeds will benefit the Grantsville Rotary Club . . .
Garrett College Open House
This Saturday, April 5, 2014, Garrett College in Mc Henry invites to its Open House from 11am to 2pm. According to the College “the open house is open to the public for individuals interested in finding out about college credit and workforce development opportunities. Program Directors will be available to speak to individuals in addition to Financial Aid and Admissions representatives. Tours of the campus, CARC, and residence halls will be provided.
