McHenry MD Highland Festival
2014 marks the 27th annual McHenry Highland Festival. This festival supplies the traditions of Highland music, games, and dance. You can visit the different Clan tents and shop with the Celtic vendors. This is a celebration for all ages to enjoy. April Showers Bring May Flowers!!
Spring is arriving in Garrett County. This May you can enjoy the Bird fest weekend at the Deep Creek Lake State Park Discovery Center. Beginning Saturday May 3rd at 6pm Katie Fallon will be speaking and signing her new book, and Sunday May 4th at 2pm there will be Bird Photography at the Aviary. May 3, 2014 Deep Creek Lake Maryland will be hosting a Boat Auction and Community Yard Sale at the Lion’s Club Park on Bumblee Road McHenry, MD. What a great time to get ready for the summer. Goosebumps and Grapes
On Friday, February 21, 2014, from 6 to 9pm, Goosebumps & Grapes will take place at the HoniHoni Bar at Deep Creek Lake, MD. The event features a bonfire as well as a wine sampling. The wines are courtesy of Republic National Distributing Company and will be sold at Arrowhead Market on Friday and Saturday. $3 from every bottle purchased will be donated to Special Olympics Maryland. The Garrett County State Parks offer their First Day Hikes on New Year’s Day. At Herrington Manor State Park, the hike starts at 1pm and you are invited to bring your (well-behaved, on a leash) dog with you. A a park ranger will guide this hike around Herrington Manor and will inform you about what you need to know when you bring your dog to a state park.
