Tonight is the official kick off of the 17th Annual MSP/NRP Deep Creek Dunk with Goosebumps and Grapes. Join the festivities at the Honi Honi Bar from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. for a night of wine sampling inside a heated tent and a bonfire. The time has arrived yet again for the Annual Deep Creek Dunk. The 17th Annual MSP/NRP Deep Creek Dunk is scheduled for this Saturday, February 21st. President’s Day
I couldn’t think of a more suitable image to represent President’s Day than one of Mount Rushmore in South Dakota. After doing some research through the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, I discovered some very interesting information. Did you know that Wisp was not the first ski resort in Maryland? That honor goes to New Germany State Park in the 1940’s they had both downhill skiing and cross-country nicknamed “Maryland’s Alps”. This was a premier destination until about the 1960’s. Everyone knows about Punxsutawney Phil but did you know the history behind the tradition of Groundhog Day.
